Annoying dent

Got a dent on my old van,about the size of a small saucer no bigger,thing is it'll push out ok from the other side and stay there,bloody annoying thing is you've only got to touch it with a feather say and it pops back in.
Yer i could fill the indent,but hows one go about stopping it popping back in?

I think it’s stretched so without shrinking it not a lot you can do. Professionals probably be along soon.

Brace the inside with a couple of bits of wood stuck on with no nails or similar

You need to find the hinge point of the dent, then hold it in place then lock it by giving the hinge a few a few gentle hammer blows, you'll need another pair of hand to hold a dolly on the outside while you lock it from the inside, or vice versa depending on the dent

Thanks for that @slim_boy_fat I have seen similar when they do the small accident damage on companies vans.

Brace the inside with a couple of bits of wood stuck on with no nails or similar

old trick at the bodyshop....cut suitable size cardboard to fit inside , mix up a big dollop of filler and press against the inside , it will stay alright once dry

if both sides are on show theres various heat shrinking methods but will need it to be painted

@roofman @steveo3002 Bingo guys mixed both your tips together used a bit of 3mm sheet steel 8x1 bit of bodyfiller braced it up,left for an hour and yer it stayed,even gave it a little cheeky wack with a hammer NO movement

its in the back of the van behind the ply lining
