Anilam Wizard 211 DRO / Anilam scale RBS-5T pinout or wire colours.

I have an Anilam Wizard 211 2-axis DRO that came with my Semco mill which works fine.

However, as it is only a 2 axis DRO I bought a Chinese 'upgrade' with 5 axis so I can have X,Y and Z. This Chinese DRO also have a summing feature so I can sum the quill and knee for one overall readout of the Z axis.

As the original Anilam scales are already installed, I was hoping can re-use them.

Problem: as we all know, scale pinouts/DRO pinouts are not all the same and unfortunately, the anilam scales do not work on the Chinese DRO.

Does anybody know the pin layout of the Anilam Wizard 211 DRO or the Anilam RBS-5T scales?

I can then just rewire the 9 pin D sub connector and all should be good.

The Anilam DRO manual and Anilam scale manual do not give the pin layout

Im using Anilam scales on my chinese DRO with no issues , It had a 3 axis Wizard scale that I sold here recently . I had to rewire the plugs of course

i'll see if i saved the pinouts somewhere

i used this chart to work out what pins to use

i think i matched what the existing pinouts were to the above , 99% sure it was the same as Acu-rite

Before you tear everything apart, you could verify that pins 6 & 7 are the 5v supply and ground as nothing else in the table has that same combination.

I think the TouchDRO site is a good resurce for this sort of information if above does not solve it.

The Anilam scale's connector

Using the table I came up with the following for the Aniliam scales:
Pin 2 - Green = A
Pin 4 - Pink = B
Pin 6 -White = Gnd
Pin 7 - Black = 5V
Pin 8 - Brown = R or Z

When I bought the Chinese DRO (YHSINO YH800) I printed, laminated the pin layout, and then stuck it onto the DRO for future reference as I have previously run into the problem of no set wiring standard for DRO scales.

As you can see, the Chinese DRO does not list the 'R' or 'Z' pin so I did not know where to put the brown wire from the Anilam scales.

Luckily, I also bought a couple of magnetic scales when I bought the dro and they came with documentation listing the pinouts.

From that, I could determine that the brown wire from the Anilam scales should go to pin 9.
I have no idea if the Chinese DRO even utilise pin 9 or not.

As you can see, the Chinese DRO does not list the 'R' or 'Z' pin so I did not know where to put the brown wire from the Anilam scales.

I think R might be 'regular' and Z 'zero'. The zero is each end of the scale and can be used as input to a limit switch. The R is every so often (e.g. every 50mm). I think that can be used if the scale is extremely fast moving/accelerating to prevent the display missing some counts (or maybe to display an error).

The more expensive the scale, the more features are provided. The A' and B' are inverted versions of A and B, which I think can be used over a long cable to reduce noise or interference.
