Angled metal saw

Wood chop saws that can be angled in two planes at the same time are pretty normal.
I'm struggling to find an equivalent for cutting metal.
Is there a reason they're like unicorn manure, or am I just looking for the wrong tool?

How big are the sections you want to cut?

I don't know if any of the Evolution Rage multi purpose ones do it or not.

Not seen an industrial one that does it in my time on the tools....not saying thay dont exist.

i would hazard a guess and say that metal is so much more dangerous to cut with this kind of saw that you are more limited unless you can find a more secure way to hold the stock your trying to cut.
wood cuts easy so you have more adjustabilty as work holding isn't as important

Rage3 costs about£150 is a compound mitre saw that cuts metal . Mine seems to be accurate using single mitre but haven’t used the compound mitre. Have cut up to 80mm box but make sure you have decent PPE

To be more specific, I have got an evolution rage 3 that will cut on 2 planes.
Works fine on alloy, I think the biggest I have done with 2 angles is 80x120mm box.

Search double mitre or compound mitre.
Bandsaws and cold saws are available.

On heavy stuff I use the cold cut saw, chop on angle then rotate and chop again for the 2nd angle.

Good call, the hot shrapnel goe everywhere.

Someone here suggested a magnet inside a poly-bag to catch the worst of it. Then, when finished, turn bag inside-out and dump the metal bits.

As far as i'm concerned the Evolution rage(orange) saws are rubbish for cutting metal,motor runs to fast and blades are garbage
The Evolution raptors(blue) are far better,will do your angles but not mitres

It won't. I was just pointing out that I for something like 100mm 4mm box section steel I would not be using the rage3 although to be fair I have not tried it on anything but alloy. I expect the blades would work out expensive on steel?

The op didn't say he wanted a compound mitre cut, just that he wanted 2 angles.
I will cut a double mitre by turning on the cold cut in steel. If I was doing the same in alloy I would do it in one pass on the rage

I would be for box section no more than 2".
I've seen the orange Evolution saw, but the reviews seemed poor, especially on epeatble accuracy.

I have had some pretty good results with it (considering the price)

The built-in guide is not bang on but if I want to do something properly I will set it up using a square or angle gauge and then clamp everything up am fit seems pretty repeatable, or just as good as a cold saw at 10x the price.

The weakest part is the work piece clamp setup, if I had a bit more confidence in it I would probably try some steel in it.
If it was the only saw I had I would do something about it but there are a couple of others to use so I choose my jobs for it. It's certainly a lot quicker to setup and cut than any of the others though

With a decent bandsaw you can set up the workpiece at the required angle then set the table for the compound etc.

Another option might be a universal vice if you have to use a chop saw.
