Angle grinder

Am in the market for a new 115mm angle grinder for the workshop, just wondering if anyone had any preferences, good points / bad points on certain makes, we use all makita at work but the trigger's are too soft for my liking, least little pressure and it cuts it out...so any ideas....

avoid bosch unless its a german one [the german ones go on for ever] as most are made in china,millwaukee were good last time i purchased[2007].

Have you tried a Makita with a Paddle type switch

i've got a makita which is good and a dewalt which is also good but has a longer cable which is handy. the makita has a push on-push off sliding switch which stays where you put it until you slide it the other way, is that what you mean by a paddle switch Shox?
They're both good grinders and the dewalt is a bit more powerful (800w compared to 700 or 750 i think) not that you'd notice.
i've got a bosch (blue, in colour) 9 inch which is fine as well but i don't know if it was made in germany or not. i would say forget about the green bosch kit if you want it to last, it's a different range altogether, they sell it in b+q FFS!

my bosch has lasted 4 years of repeated use/abuse daily. makita are also good.

I always buy an angle grinder that you can easily switch off one handed.
A lot of grinders you need both hands, one to hold it, and the other to switch it off

weve got 4 of these at work, all coming up for 2 years old and in daily use there fantastic really comfortable powerful and you get 2 sets of free brushes

my bosch died after about ten years of use, not daily use but a fair bit in a week.

so i wanted another, i normaly buy bosch as i like the feel of there kit, but i saw a dewalt at a reasonble price so got it.

when it was delivered in its box, i thought it were heavy so thought there were some free discs in the box, but there wernt, its just fecking heavy compared to the bosch one!!
so far not a bad grinder though, and as said a nice long rubberised lead on it.

I got one of these a while back, was sick of cheap angle grinders lasting about 6 months, been good so far and is a trigger type instead of an on off switch

Price has gone up but I suppose it is a while.
I tried one in the style above and did not like it, sometimes I can be holding the grinder upright or working one handed, awkward in the first instance impossible in the second.

I've bust 2 of those, I still have one, they'r the loudest yet most powerful i've tried. My Mikita is a fair bit quieter but a lot less poweful.
