Angle grinder stands,any good or not ?

I am thinking of getting a stand to convert my angle grinder into a chop saw,but just wondered what you guys on here think to them,are they any good or not ? I realise it's not as good as a proper chop saw but for the amount of work it will get it's not worth me investing in a chop saw.The sort pictured below is what i'm thinking of.

If your going to do this, get the biggest grinder that will fit and buy quality discs, they can be very handy but they can be a pain in the **** if you only have one grinder

They are OK for very light material.think I picked mine up for £5-00, I mainly use a 0.8mm thin disc to cut my arrows to length for my archery hobby.Well worth having if the price is right.

Had one but their cutting capacity is tiny (I was using a 115mm grinder) so I can't see the point. The accuracy gained is pretty minimal considering the limits it can cut, compared with just hand-holding it.

Had one and it was ok for 'small' work, also better if you have a spare grinder you can leave set in position.

Worth watching the classifieds for one of the Aldi chop saws, I picked one up last year in nearly new condition with spare discs for £30, think they were only about £50 new and it surprised me how good it is.

Been using a home made one with a 230mm angle grinder for 30yrs. Worst bit is the reduced capacity as the discs wear. So now (finally) I am making a 355mm CTC bladed chopsaw.
I wouldn't bother with a small angle grinder.
For limited use, great. But I notice Einhall do a 355 chopsaw for about 90 notes. 2 yr warranty. For cheap kit, they are quite good.

I have one for my 9" grinder. It's very flimsy, the base is only thin pressed steel and there is play in the pivot.

There's one for a small grinder in the shed, replaced by a chop saw. I wouldn't recommend anyone to waste their money on one personally. The vice that holds the work gets in the way and you can only cut with a nearly new blade. A bit of redesigning would make them more useful.
