Angle grinder question

I have bought an angle grinder, metabo w12-125 Quick
The problem is that i would use him only for cut off, because my brother say me that using the angle grinder for grinding, the bearings can be damaged.
What do you think about this?
It's better use this one for cutting and another one for grinding?

It's called and angle grinder because it's built for grinding! Just use it!

I have a number of different grinders with different discs for different jobs, but only because it saves me changing discs each time.

So i use my new angle grinder normaly but when lidl sell one, i buy this only for grinding.

For use at home, I have a selection of cheap grinders with different discs to save the mentioned swapping about.

For going out to work I don't use the cheap ones (I want to know it'll work first time every time and not fall apart) so I have a dewalt and swap discs about.

I've never considered the bearings to be the weak point on any of them though - even on the cheap ones. The gears or brushes are almost certain to fail first.

For this reason i have bought a metabo, because im starting little metal works....
A Door here a car hood there, a repair here a repair there.
So i need a good powerfull tool, from my need to my chose 1250 watt 5 inch german made angle grinder.
It have also a slip safety cluch

Tips
Always wear protective equipment - especially safety glasses - gloves are a good idea (although I'm not comfortable wearing them)
Don't be scared of it, grip it firmly when using.

I hate little bit gloves when i'm using the angle grinder, because i can't completaly feel the tool but the biggest reason because i hate use them is that it's more difficult for me controll the switch and i'm scared that the weel can capture the glove and take my hand.
I prefer use not gloves whit this tool but often i must use expecially when i must take the pieces after the cut or grinding

This is very dangerous, allways use protectiv glassees or full face shield

This is a VERY good tip!

Eye and ear protection is a must.

Same with guard.

Make a mistake with it and it will bite hard.


The tool is used foe grinding, cutting, sanding. I even have one of the Screwfix chain saw attachment. For fast removal of wood.

Avoid cheep discs, they are not worth the time. Learn how to use the tool.

Plus get a quick release nut for the spindle, saves time. Plus the spanners you get, no matter how expensive the tool was are made from monkey metal and will let you down.

The "Quick" in the model means that is a optional of it.

I have also took the protectiv rail filtre, that proctect the motor from the biggest scrakmels(Sorry but i can't found another term now) when grinding or cutting or other flying pieces next the air intakes.

That's what I thought until I saw this on a Green (DIY range) Bosch,

the complaint from the user was his cutting disk was bouncing.

I have the same Metabo grinder and it came with a quick nut it's a brilliant tool and gets used for everything, grinding, cutting and wire wheeling and has not shown any sign of giving up. Save your money on the Lidl grinder to buy discs and just use it. Is scrackmels anything like shrapnel ?

if you take it nice and steady with your cuts and blades it will last a while

i bust grinders in a week if im grinding pointing out on a building and that includes the expensive ones the cheaper ones go a bit quicker than that

if they do last they never last to change the carbons in them

This is my hope

But for not do a mistake....
This evening i'd repair the old angle grinder, i change the bearing whit a new one but it still move, i think that it's a problem of the housing.
I broken it a year ago because the spindle lock felt when run and he broken the housing where before the upper bearing lived in peace

This is an option
Another one can be that the seller gave me a faulty bearing.
Another one again can be that i put him in the housing whit to much violence

But i can use him whit easy (whitout parkinson)
