A mate of mine was using his 9" grinder last week up a ladder. For some reason he had no disc guard on the grinder. The ladder slipped, he let go of the grinder with his right hand, I think the grinder pivoted on the side handle that his left hand was holding and the disk cut across the back of his left hand, right through one of the tendons to his index finger but missed the other tendon.
He is OK, overnight stay in hospital, small operation but very lucky.
I know the obvious "should have had a guard on", but accidents really do only take a second.
