An anvil at last - hurrah !

After missing out many moons back on buying an anvil at home, and not seeing anything for sale that wasn't a rusted concave garden ornament, I finally have a decent anvil !

Picked up this morning from settle and it has a nigh on perfect top and bick, and the rebound test was very good and a good ring from the anvil.

It's a 102kg John Brooks anvil with original stand, all painted black with the JB lettering and weight on the side painted gold.

Hurrah !

Not got the space for a forge as I'm just in a single garage !

It was advertised on fleabay and it expired with no bids due to the starting price prob being too high for most ppl.

Managed to get it for less than the fleabay price and picked up this morning around 8ish, about 50 min drive from morecambe.

It's now safely tucked into the garage awaiting use !

He did say that he buys and sells loads of anvils though Kent, I can pm you his ebay user/email address if you want ?

they could have robotstar but no.

The car has been heavier than that before when I brought home a woodburning stove (120kg) along with 9 boxes of flue pipe strapped to the roof rack and other shopping (ikea, asda etc).

The car was heavy that day !
