Yep, that sounds good.

Really delicate things will want a lower current but significantly longer in the rank (maybe as low as 0.3 amps for a week).

More current won't help if you were wondering, it's just a waste of electricity and won't make it any faster (I experimented with 20 amps, just made the water warm).

Mine sits at about .75 to 1 Amp usually, Jut leave it there until its done.

Where did the AC come from? You cant do electrolysis with AC.

To be honest knowing the amps isn't really going to help you. The voltage puts the umph into the system and the size of the electrodes and the distance between affect the amperage. If its a Car battery charger you are using then you will usually only have two settings 6V or 12V or maybe a high low. If its got high low then that just limits the current so low should be fine. I'd just put in 12V and leave it overnight

I had a spot deflection galvanometer made by Bruel and Kjaer which I used as part of a system to detect lightning strikes.

What I've found is the voltage/current makes little difference to the finished result. My charger has 12/24v and high/low settings and all the higher settings do is heat the water and eat away your waste metal quickly!
Here are my tips.
Clean off oil & grease as they stop the process working effectively.
After the first 24 hours cleaning pressure wash the item to remove what has been loosened. If any paint is still attached score it or use a wire brush on a drill to let the electrolysis get under the paint then put it back on for another 24 hrs.
Regular pressure wash your waste electrodes, when they get coated in crud it slows the process drastically.

I done it anyway and its reading 1.90 amps at 10 volts.

As others have said, that's fine. I normally keep mine limited to 1.5A maximum. It's usually drawing less than that though.
