I recently bought a 120v Clarke Turbo Weld 100EN that is virtually unused but must have been sitting in a workshop for years. There was no documentation but I was able to download a Users Manual from a website mentioned elsewhere in this forum. This document is probably as good as one can find except it is for a 230v model and all the tables with settings and current flow are likely incorrect for a 120v model.

Does anyone have a reference for how to interpret and correct from a 230v welder document to a 120v model. As far as I can tell, all the parts and mechanical aspects match between the actual welder and the documentation.Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I'm no expert but I wouldn't have thought the difference between 120v and 230v on a machine of this size would make any difference to to the tables in the manual.

Max power would be around 19v I think, and while I know very little about the witchcraft that is electrickery, that is less than 120v.

Very probably wrong though.

As grim_d said the input voltage difference should make no difference to the tables and settings as these will be for the output and this is very likely to be the same despite the input voltage. Only difference would be input current being twice the value compared with the 230V model.

The manual will be the same except the input current will be twice that of the 230V model.

It will need a dedicated 20A outlet to run full power. If you use an extension, use a 12 gauge one and as short as possible.

BTW, the Lincoln Electric electrodes sold at HomerD and others will fit the CLarke as it is also a clone of the Tweco gun.

Many thanks to all who replied. The short 12 gauge extension cord is important and will be addressed immediately. I think some experimentation on achieving good welds with various settings is in order.
