Just had a parcel from Amazon a generic USB lead.
We did not order it, address is correct.
Have looked on their site it does not show in our account last item was April
Cant find any way to tell them it could be a trial scam purchase so have changed PW.
does this happen often
Does the hive have any insight

Apparently it can be sellers needing a sale to be able to create a five star review in your name. There was a recent news article about it.

I had some plastic file pockets delivered TWICE before. Could not work out where they came from.

Apparently it is called 'brushing'. Sneaky prawn sellers trying to get their ratings up.

I've had dozens over the last couple of years - but only when I had Prime on monthly trial

I’ve only used Amazon once in my lifetime, about 8 years ago I ordered a Recaro child’s car seat, it was delivered on time and 2 days later I got another one …… Completely free of charge. Given his wealth I didn’t think he’d miss it so I said nothing to them.
From my past experience I should probably use them more!

Account in my name but not my account or phone number.

Amazon couldn't give me an answer.

They are so massive now there are bound to be the odd issue but the generally they provide an amazing service. The Amazon prime membership is probably the best value anywhere in this day and age.

I ordered two mini digger pins yesterday, shipping was £12.50 +vat and I suspect they are not coming today even though they left yesterday. Given that Amazon prime is less than that for an entire month it's a bargain. We've had spells where they have delivered 2-3 parcels every day over a week.

Yes prime can not be beaten. Same day delivery on a sunday?! It is great. Stuff shipped from spain for £12 delivered, in a big box too. The size of them seems to mean they have no issues with customs - probably from dedicated staff and decently automated paperwork.

I just hope the drivers and staff are treated & paid a little better than the media would like us to believe, sadly I think its likely the opposite - but, compared to the competitors? I hated my time at royal snail - and the crap service they give...

Watch out for a follow-up phone call from "amazon" - we sent you an order by mistake, you can keep the item for free just let me know your card details so I can process a refund... type thing

Most likely it's brushing as mentioned,
You are not actually the target/victim in this one, it's dodgy sellers trying to get their own ratings up or fast track through amazon's checking procedures so they can start selling expensive stuff that doesn't exist.
To be fair to the sellers, I looked into selling on amazon and it was pretty difficult to get started especially if you were selling generic items with any competitors. Most of those "how to start selling on amazon " guides were basically advocating some sort of way to cheat the ratings system (or they were just scams themselves!)

Was looking through my bank statement, Amazon Prime and Amazon Digital have been repeatedly taking small sums, less than €10 each time out of my account for the last six weeks, haven't ordered anything from Amazon since June, and our Prime subscription is annual out of wifes account.

Cancelled my debit card, and the banks been contacted.

Little sums once a week, every ten days.
