Amazon Basics tools. Anyone used them?

I’ve been watching the fixing up with Amazon’s videos which are OK, well better than the TV anyway. They are obviously plugging the face that Amazon now sell tools and car parts which I have been browsing through. Just wondering if anyone has tried any of the tools?

Well priced but with Amazon’s no fuss returns I was thinking they would be OK for most jobs.

Not tried the basics tools but I did pick up an Amazon commercial brand multimeter earlier this year.

I’ve got loads of fluke meters but wanted something cheap I could throw in my bag when abroad and not worry about - £35 (I think they’ve gone up in price a little bit now) and it’s superb for the money. The same base brand is used by RS for their pro range and for the money I can’t really fault it - identical RS pro models are about 4x the price. It’s got loads of features, ip67 rated, nice backlit display, the leads that came with it are a bit plasticky but perfectly serviceable. It also reads bang on accurate when compared against my £500 fluke 87.

Off the back of this thread I just bought a set of Amazon basics imperial ratchet spanner’s (flex head).

Haven’t tried them in anger yet but they seem decent enough for the price (£20), the ratchet mechanism is a bit sloppier than my metric facom ones but then they are about 1/5 of the price. I wouldn’t use them enough to warrant splashing any more money out for a fancy set from a big name tool supplier so for the occasional use they will get I’m hoping they will see me out

That was exactly my reasoning, I only wanted them for the very rare occasion I may need one. I might buy a set of flex head ones too though, they were not available last year when I bought the fixed head ones
