Aluminium Tread Plate

Possibly posted something about this before, but I can’t find it at the moment, anyway..

Looking to make, or have made, some bits for my wagon out of aluminium tread plate. eBay has been my go to resource for the moment, what with Christmas and all that jazz getting in the way

Current price I’ve found for 2500x1250x3mm, delivered, is £120 per sheet. I’m hoping to get this down quite a bit if possible, does anyone have a lead on an online supplier at all?

Next up will be question on how best to bend or have items welded up

Think I’ll have to buy a couple of tool boxes in though, they look a little beyond my capabilities at the moment.

Price doesn't sound extortionate.
I don't think I have ever bought it in 2500 x 1250 as I go for 2m x 1m.
Last time I bought it was 4.5mm (approx 6mm to top of pattern) and I was £60 but £20 delivery then VAT takes it to £100

Working out the volume of the 2m x 1m x 4.5mm compared to your 2500mm x 1250mm x 3mm then it is more or less the same so I would be expecting to pay about £100 with delivery and VAT, so as said your price is not OTT.

We use 3000 x 1500 x 2 tread plate a sheet is about £130.00ish + delivery + vat...

So £120 for an 8 x 4 x 3 sheet ain't bad...

Assuming of course your 3mm is the base dimension and not to top of tread?

That’s the place I had found seems to be the cheapest online too, had a look at a couple of other places and the prices were closer to £200 delivered.

3mm is the base dimension, yes, then plus tread . I think 2mm is a bit undersize for straps and chains to be thrown around in

I may actually be able to get away with 2000x1000 sheets, I’ll have to work out sheet requirements and what waste there will be.
