For 5083 Alu I am about £28 per mm thickness of a 2500 x 1250 sheet, so 10mm would be around about the £280 mark.
I can basically get any size I want but obviously you pay a bit more for that as they are chopping it off a sheet. As an example I got 2520mm x 125mm x 10mm and it cost me £45.
5083 is probably the most expensive of the normal alu alloys though so other grades will likely be cheaper.

try metal supermarkets, all over the country, well almost.......
they'll cut to size and happily post.........I use the 1 in Southampton on the way to the ferry, nice helpful people and will answer ur emails, no need to phone.......sometime there's even off-cuts, just ask and good for stainless and hex bar.......they get my stuff ready for me before I go, can't remember if I paid first........always collected in person tho.........

Its often sold in bar form, ive used various thickness pieces of 4 or 6 inch wide 6082 for bike stuff like yokes etc. And just buy it in suitable lengths.

Tricky to buy. Ali sheets are considerably cheaper to those who specialise and most big stockholders will send smaller firms to other specialist fabricators to purchase for logistic reasons
On line? I would not generally even consider it! Just do some Googling of who does ali fab near you

Duralumin is a misnomer for all 2xxx series aluminium alloys of aluminium and copper.
Duralumin was invented by the Germans prior to WWI and wasn't really used elsewhere until after the war as the compositions were not exactly clear in published journals.
Common 2000 series alloys are 2014 and 2024.
They are age hardening. Some have better corrosion resistance than others. I believe most are unweldable but some can be welded with the correct filler with great difficulty.

Triumph t140, but i put a Norton commando crank in it because its what i had on the shelf, works out well because they are stronger than the triumph one. Norton slimlineframe. I bought these parts years ago and never seriously got stuck into it as a project. I have a bsa a10 on the bench which i hope to get finished after the christmas silliness, then move onto the triton.
