a friend of mine has an aluminium intercooler or oil cooler, (cant remember which one) that he needs to repair and modify, as he doesnt want to fork out tonnes of money to a tig welding company or a specialised repair company he wants to attempt a repair himself, he has an oxy-acetalyne set and a normal propane blow torch.
how successfull can alu brazing be? he has also told me he has some 1.6mm tig filler rods, now from what ive read you need some type of flux as obviously his rods arent flux cored.
so my questions are
can he use the tig filler rods he has? and what is the best flux to use if its needed and where could he get it from?
cheers scott
