I'm looking at building a camper body for a truck using extruded profile to make a box and then bond in composite wall panels. Suppliers such as John Adams and Service Metals do these for trucks. But i have a few questions.
(note i'm a rather poor self-taught Tigg'er, who will prob get some classes before attacking this)
1. Theres a wide range of grades available - it occurs if i chose too soft it will bend, and too hard fracture. What grade would one recommend?
2. Welding it, i guess a matching filler, any tips for best strength?
3. Anyone got any experience calculating floor supports (cross-beams)? Obvioulsy Alu would be lighter but i'm worried about load strength, Could be steel but heavier. Can anyone put my mind a rest about Alu floor beams?
