Aluminium Angle

Guys

i have 7 lengths off 200x100x10 aluminium angles i need to paint i was hoping to paint to the bare ally

as these lengths are brand new all i was hoping to do was to give them a wee clean scotch brite them and then

paint what would the best type off paint or do i really need to etch with a primer first which im hoping not to
as i really dont have the time

You really can't skimp on the self-etching primer coat with aluminium.

You need some sort of primer with aluminium either etch primer or the better choice of epoxy primer

i was thinking that myself but this is what my paint supplier has told us to yous

The data sheet only specifies application on steel. If your supplier will guarantee that it’s suitable for application on aluminium and will pay to rectify any defects that occur then fine but I wouldn’t use it on aluminium
