Hi all.
Have a 95 VWT4 van, alternator has the big main power lead and a small blue lead to a push on connector (see pic).
The blue wire has broken off connector end.
The battery indicator light does not come on when ignition is switched on, the van runs fine and has done for weeks, no charging issues.
The connector takes two wires but there has only ever been the one blue going into it..this lit the battery light on start up.
I cobbled it together years ago and can't remember what I did..
Today I connected a wire to the loose blue wire and, with the ignition on poked it in first one side of the connector then the other.
Both times the dash battery light came on.
I think what I did last time was buy a new connector, cut one wire off and crimped the blue wire to the remaining one.. But not sure which one..
Does it matter? I think I was told that the other one would be for a vehicle with a rev count, which I don't have.
Any ideas? Cheers.
