ok i have just swapped my alternator over for a new lucas one but I am going to refurbish my old one.
I have done a few in the past normally it is the reg pack that stops working from gettting wet/muddy water in them but my reg pack has been fine the bearings are shot though.
New bearings have been ordered it does need new brushes too these are very short now after 12 years service!
Anyway would you also change the regulator which comes with new bushes for £20 odd quid or keep the reg thats in there and swap the brushes
