Does anyone know of alternative part numbers to these ?

SF150N80P
IRFP250N

It's for a battery capacity tester, of Chinese origin, which apparently wants to short circuit if battery is connected before it's powered on.

Simplest is to look up its data sheet and select something similar. Quick look: 1 / 6 POWER MOSFET Features 80V,150A N-Channel MOSFET.

Yeah, I got that far and realised it's probably a local internal only part,ie made in china for Chinese customers. Couldn't find spec or equivalents in the UK.

I had a look on the ST microelectronics website and couldn't find it there, either.

Problem is, if you don't know what it is, testing / finding an equivalent becomes challenging!

I'm guessing it was made Feb 1979. Vintage kit?

I think it may be a Toshiba part, but it isn't going to be critical in that application anyway. A generic N type MOSFet wil do the job.

no, brand new. probably from new old stock. seems to be very few electronic load (constant current sink) units for sale, at least for reasonable money.

i've threw £6.92 at the ali express item, i'll see if it arrives.

So it appears to be nothing particularly special. It shouldn't be too difficult to find a similar spec n-channel MOSFET.

Not yet. That's a job for tomorrow. Today was sorting soldering and wiring faults.
