Hi
I have a Oerlikon Citoarc Tac 355 AC / DC Tig
Ive been Mig welding also Gas and stick welding for years
Purchased this machine as I have 3 phase power in house ,and wanted a transformer machine .
Ive been on the forum a couple of times and have found it very interesting !
As with any new machine I like to get set up properly , but looking at the user manual supplied ,it just a technical spec book
Does any one know where I could obtain a better user manual for this type of machine ?
Any info on operating this machine would be apprieciated !

Hello csc and welcome to the forum. ive got a Oerlikon Citoarc Tac 173 ac dc
i managed to get a manual from oerlikon but its not much good i do have the
technical guys tel no who works for them. if you post a picture on this forum
i might be able to help with some of the settings my set is on this page see

They are fairly simple to setup comepared to some.

Here is a picture of the control panel ,I have a foot pedal as well ,that has
max and min settings on it .The torch is water cooled .
See what ya make of the not very good pic , just been crawling around my unit trying to get the best I could !

Left to right, from what i can make out....

Trigger latch- pres and hold to weld or press/release to start, and again to stop
Current
Not sure, initially i thought the ac/dc switch, but i dont think it is.
Not sure what the two and the switch are for
AC balance, helps get through oxidisation on ally.
Possibly the HF switch, left for continuous (ally) right for stainless etc, (start only) and right, looks like stick mode??
Downslope, reduces amps over x time, helps prevent craters.
Post gas, a few seconds of gas after the trigger is released, sheilds hot welds.
Foot pedal on/off.

The yellow ones seem to be related to the AC side of it, white both.

As Hitch said, not the best pic to work with but i've labelled 'em on the pic itself.



2T/4T is as Hitch described- trigger latching. The bits i've labelled as pulse (based on the yellow squarewave)... will need a better pic to be sure but i'm guessing that the dial next to the main amperage is for setting the peak and background amps (actual amps set with main dial) and the two to the right are going to be pulse width (or dutycycle) and frequency (Hz)
