does anyone have any suggestions as to what bars of soap wont turn to mush,we moved here a year ago & have tried 'simple' & 'imperial leather',the water makes them fall apart,hope the serious members don't mind an un-related inquiry?

we use the cheap stuff for soaping the machine heads at work as its solid stuff and lasts for ages.
used to use tescos own when i lived near bridgeend

water makes it go mushy perhaps you bathroom needs an extractor with a humidity switch.

My gran keeps bars of soap in the airing cupboard to dry them out before use as it keeps them together longer

Well I use the "Simple" soap and never had it turn to mush,I just hope this doesn't disappear as the "Lifebouy" soap did as I break out in spots with scented soap.

Maybe you should use the gel soap in a bottle?

Well I use the "Simple" soap and never had it turn to mush,I just hope this doesn't disappear as the "Lifebouy" soap did as I break out in spots with scented soap.

Georgie, it is. Do a google - plenty out there for you! Or you can buy straight carbolic soap - plenty of that too (the smell always reminds me of infants school, back in the day)

when our kids were kids and played in muddy puddles, the only way we could get them out of the water was to THROW A BAR OF SOAP IN!

9 miles away still by the wye & welsh water territory,but now on a private supply[no rip off service /supply charges,@ last]the water is incredibly limey&hard.i scrub the kettle & steamer free of scale every 2 weeks.

Hopefully such products will all go the way of bear baiting. I think a little mush is worth it, to save a few animal lives.

what sort of water did u have before u moved that didnt soften the soap

I think you'll find no additional animals are harmed in the production of soap. Although maybe you think by-products should just be thrown away?
