I messed up earlier and some how posted this in a Netfix thread .
Warning scam likely
Have ordered a new battery driven super electric joystick or phone controlled self folding buggy from Ali Express at a mid price of £1750 inc. shipping .
Paid via PayPal to my Ali Express account .
A day later I get a WhatsApp asking me to pay outside of Ali Express direct 6to them using my PayPal .. fortunately I didn't see this message the day it was sent for I left my phone in my car.
I get an email from AliExpress asking me if someone had asked me for more money , if so please go to my account and read their internal Ali Express mail ..I did .
Acknowledge the request for more money but said I had not paid .
Ali came back a few minutes later saying , " It is suspected fraud , we have cancelled the order and have refunded your payment to PayPal , two days later the money is back in my PayPal and another two days later as it hadn't been claimed it was refunded to my credit card.
Still wanting this sort of buggy I went back into Ali Express ..found another almost identical buggy for a few pounds more , including shipping to my address.. read the blurb yes it's what I want with the 20 Ah 17 miles battery , so I ordered it and again paid Ali via pay pal through my credit card .
Four hours after I get a message gushing mesage telling me how good it was & advising me it was very expensive to ship , they do not use ALI's PayPal system for payment "Please pay us direct via your PayPal " Meanwhile I'd re read my order on AliExpress . Lovely prominent warning
" Do not proceed with a transaction if the seller asks for payment outside of Ali Express or you will lose all the protections afforded by our contract .
A second What's app arrived saying , " You have misunderstood the first message , pay us direct outside of PayPal and we will give you a good discount . . Regards Betty " .
After contacting AliExpress I get a 1 to 1 helper using a translated typed conversation to advise me , they cancelled the order and I have to contact PayPal and my credit card company so I can ask for a charge back payment .
Credit card people were extremely helpful setting me up with a real human to talk me though the charge back on PayPlal . It's a bit convoluted but eventually after 20 min it was sorted & sent to PayPal and the payment for the credit card given a security suspension notice .
The AliExpress company advertiser was ;- " Move Ride Int'l Store Store " .
Being a pig for punishment and still wanting the buggy as an eBay advertised one was recently asking for £3995 delivered I went back to Ali Express .
Found one that is £550 plus £ 675 shipping to my door which sounds much more honest .
So far 10 hrs later no messages asking me to play outside the safety of AliExpress.
ETA ... 6 April Edited .
The second buggy I ordered to replace the original cancelled order turned out to be exactly the same ......... asking for extra money outside of AliExpress .
Luckily when I got the Ali Express notification of sale notice it contained the rider that " If the seller asks for more money please contact Ali Express " .
judging buy the speed they took up my case they as fed up with such scamming sellers . After a few minutes of them reading my messages they took the case on and cancelled the order and sent the PayPal money back into my PayPal account within 5 min .
They also sent me a link to sellers of such buggies who have sold many of them and have good feed back . This price is a hundred and fifty pounds more but that's not a problem I was expecting to pay more due to increased shipping oil costs ..
What did surprise me is that the final message from AliExpress message was , " Thank you for saying you will be placing an order for the third time , we will monitor your account & we will ensure it is delivered to you at the advertised price ".
