Aldi Tap&Die set

I just noticed that there's an M7 tap&die in the set,bit of a misplaced thread because don't the go up in two's? ie M4,6,8,10.

Bugger just tapped an M7 thread instead of an M8...specsavers is open tomorrow.

yea but if it was a metric coarse thread he would have drilled the hole 8.80 for 8mm or a 7.25 for a metric fine thread 2 big for 7.0mm tap

I've always worked on thread minus the pitch so 8 - 1.25 = 6.75, even got a 6.75mm drill in my tap & die set.

Susuki motorbike cam cover bolts are m7. I've never seen a m7 that wasn't 1mm pitch and that is what the Aldi set will be.
