Aldi battery dril and screwdriver combo

Has anyone had experience of these type of battery tools from Aldi, this sounds like a good deal if they are quality.

I looked at the online leaflet and thought like you, does seem a good buy. ( 2 batteries )
any of the stuff I have bought i treat it as disposable, but it comes with a 3 year guarantee. I phoned up with a burnt out angle grinder, cost then about £14, they asked to email a copy of the receipt, a brand new complete grinder arrived, delivered by courier next day.---- it cost £14 to buy in the first place-- oh!!!!! the replacement is still in use. now thats service.

I have purchased Aldi tools before a couple have awful, most have been good, I would imagine that they are a re-banded over production run of another make.

I'd give it a go at that price just keep the receipt, just in case...

Batteries are the main cost. I wouldn't buy anything with less than 3Ahr rating, otherwise you are forever charging/waiting. But then they aren't meant for Professional use.

They look a lot better made than the earlier Tooltec battery drills I aquired. The gearboxes and batteries where the weak piint on them. Gearboxes at least look to be metal cased on these and they've got Litium Ion batteries so should last more charges. Battery capacities are a bit low for continuous use but at least there's two of them. The batteries look very similar to my Makita ones and the whole style of the drill and driver aren't far off looks wise apart from red colour.
3 year warranty makes them worth a punt as long as you remember to keep receipt safe.

Anyone tried Stanley Fatmax? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stanley-F...ua-/141826484637?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368 the aldi video mentions a metal gearbox but the steel capacity on the fatmax goes up to 13mm and 2a batteries

I bought one yesterday. It seems well made and is about half the weight of my old DeWalt. They're available from Homebase, too, for the same price, until the 30th. I like the irony in that particular auction. Argos sell them at £5 more.

I have the Lidl version of the impact driver that is ok for the price. tHe problem that I usually have with aldi/lidl is there is never enough stock of what you actually want

1.3ah is a bit pants nowadays no matter what. I bought a combination kit 6 years ago for the same money with 1.5ah batteries. Comprised of Drill, jig saw, circular saw and portable lamp and a pair of batteries.
