Aldi Angle Grinder

Has anyone else here bought a 125mm angle grinder from Aldi? So far I'm quite impressed with mine, £19.99p, 1200w, get spare brushes and a 3 year warranty with it, only problem I have found so far is that the disk guard is a bit clumsy, ohh and their 1mm thick cutting disks are ****

Yep i got one last week,last one went after 2 yrs and yes i lost the receipt but cant complain as i did punish it somewhat.
The new one seems a little nosier than the last one but so far its fine.
Those 125 cutting discs Aldi sell(1mm 11 for £3.49 i might add) cut better at speed 5 or 4 for some reason try that and see

I've had one for about 5 years and it's been great, as for the disc's I find that for the price they are great cut nice and fast, OK sure they don't last ages but when you can occasionally get them at 99p for 11 I don't think it can be complained about

The cheap angle grinders are OK but they tend to have fat bodies which makes using them one handed a pain.
I have a Dewalt which is my go to grinder and then use the cheapies as disposables, using them for cutting masonry where the dust gets sucked into the brush housing which kills them pretty quickly.

I got one years ago when they were £7-99 including a couple of discs, Literally worked it to death,Eventually it refused to work, light bulb moment went off, Try the spare brushes that came with it, Bingo back in business, good as new, Only thing I didn't like, they are a bit thick in the body for single handed use, I don't use the side handles, but always keep the spare brushes inside and make a plug for the end, So that I always know where they are,

Is that the variable speed one? I've got the Aldi one (powerzone?) and use it for wire brush duty as the variable speed is a godsend for that!

No probs so far, I'd happily get another if it throws its hand in.

We have two. Bought a second one as a spare when they were selling them off. They are cheap but the variable speed makes them a bargain I reckon. No problems with ours so far, after a couple of years use. I find Aldi tools good but the accessories are rubbish. The Dremel knock off accessories - tiny grinding/cutting discs are cheap but poor value as they shatter so easily. Likewise the cutting discs for the angle grinder. You get what you pay for in this instance.

The £7-99 that I bought was only single speed. The variable ones are too big in the body for my liking.

I've got two of them though I have nicked the variable speed control from each to use in another machine.

just 2 add.....look at Screwfix, often they have an offer on Hitachi grinders.........9" and a 41/2" in the same box for £80 odd squids........mine are worked to death.......bought 6 box's last time......roughly a 1/3 of the price here in France.....
even buy my cutting disc's from over there........which incidentaly, I only buy st/steel cutting disc's now, a little more money but last 2'wice as long as the normal 1's on mild steel.........

The one I bought is not variable speed though.
Yes, as a few have said, the disks are £3 - £4 for a pack of 11, so worth the money. I stand corrected.
