Hi All.
Whats peoples views on the new air products gas bottles.
It.s like an airline connection to connect to bottle.
Is there some way to fit a flowmeter to these.

I'd say it would be fairly easy to fit a conventional flow meter.

If you want to fit a flowmeter I think you just sometimes have to angle them slightly to make sure it clears the cylinder shoulder but it shouldn't pose too much of a problem

I used to use Air Products for argon, the bottles have a built in pressure reducer/regulator and you clip on either a fixed or variable flow valve which you either buy or get given by your distributor depending on your relationship with them!
The flow valve has a hose tail as the output so it is a faff to fit a peashooter type flow gauge.
I don't like the system to be honest and was glad to change to a more traditional system.
I still have the variable flow valve if anyone wants it?

You can buy an inline pressure reducer that is adjustable, it requires a screwdriver or an allen key to change pressure and they are used in shops where the guys like to pi** through gas like its going out of fashion as you can set the regulator pressure as high as you like and you'll only ever get the pressure you set at the restrictor. We used to give them out for free when we were up against competition form BOC/Air Products and clients thought their gas usage was too high. It usually showed a 30-40% saving as their companies would rarely pay for multi-stage regs snd 9-10 blokes set gas flow by ear, which is invariably too much in a noisy shop trying to hear gas flow over the hammering, grinding, and shouting the weekends match results over a 1000W stereo system blasting out radio 1 fit to burst everyone's eardrums in a half mile radius.
