Coogar 5 X30S ( Boc Argoshield Light Size Y ) £35 per refill 200 bar cylinder

Argon X30 ( Boc Pureshield Argon size Y ) £55 per refill 230 bar cylinder

1 year Rental offer £75 per cylinder or 3 years rental for £150 per cylinder

Energy surcharge £1.05 per cylinder per refill

Collection charge from local agent £9.99

These are standard fit BS3 cylinders compatible with Boc, Air Liquide etc…


INTEGRA 300 BAR OPTION

Ferromaxx 7 Integra 300 Bar ( half size Mig ) £50 Per refill + approx 40% more gas

Argon Integra 300 Bar £75 Per refill

1 year Rental Option £85 or 3 years rental for £170

Same energy surcharge & collection as above, we will supply the quick fit connectors on the Integra range foc should people decide to switch to these.

Good stuff SBK, kind of frustrating that I have been pushing BOC for a year over an offer and nothing !!!

Well I thought it was worth an ask,seems a pretty good offer too.

It is, a Y sized argon cylinder for about £125 a year, what would be interesting is if they would do combined cylinder rental.

I see they quote £150 for 3 years rental of one but would they do a deal on a years rental on 2 cylinders (argoshield and argon ?) for those with both mig and tig !

I would have to know how much m3 of gas there was in the 300 bar bottle but compared with Adams Gas pure Argon for those 200bar bottles seem dear especially if thats an offer.

Really???!!! Its over £140 once you add the collection charge and the environmental charge and VAT on top of that.
Ok an Adams gas cylinder is ever so slightly smaller than a Y cylinder but its almost half the price.

The only problem is that they do not do a decent offer on pure argon yet!!!

You have to pay £10 to collect it for yourself and pay and energy cost. So the reality is you will have to pay that no matter what so it should be included in the cost of the bottle.

It's say like a garage saying "Our petrol is only £1.20 a litre, there is charge of 18p/L to use the pump"

I can't think of anything else where they charge you for the benefit of you collecting.

The main issues was always around a good 'Hobby Use' offer for pure argon for the hobby tig welders amongst us, the volkszone offer is the best for argoshield but there is no comparable one for argon.

I have been trying for a year to get an offer from BOC, in the meantime SBK spoke with Air Products to see if they have any offers.

The argon offer is good compared with the cost for rental for an argon cylinder via a professional contract as it is about £100 for rent alone per year and then about £100 a fill or thereabouts and larger collection fees etc.

Its better value for the hobbyists amongst us.

The simple fact that air products are now offering a deal on argon might be a good thing as this may move things along a bit quicker to get a volkszone type deal with boc on argon before they lose any possible future customers who tie in with the new 3year airproducts cylinder contract?

Is it not more a case of saying...
"our petrol is £1.20 a litre, there is a charge of 18p per transaction to use the pump regardless of the amount you buy (which is the retailers 'take')"

As was said in the BOC version of this thread (thanks again for staying with it Premiershipman) the big players do a different business model...

how do you claim this offer? can you just go into any air products dealer and quote the prices or the wigwelding.co.uk offer or do you need to ring customer services up first? i think im going to take my hobby weld bottle back when its empty and get a bigger bottle.

max has sorted it out for me at my local supplier (solway heaters in workington) im going for the integra cylinder. very good service from air products.

does anyone know where you can get the push connectors for the Integra bottles? my local air products didn't have any?. I need one asap.
