air line connectors

can these be used for welding gas?
the gas bottle that I have is a big un!
so I was thinking of having it standing out of the way in a corner and have an airline pipe to my work bench with a air line connector and I could use either of my welders. if I needed a quick weld the small one(clarke 150 t) or if I have a bit of work on I could used the portamig.
would it be ok or not? john

My MIG's and my Tig all have PCL male air type connectors and my flow meters (mounted on the regulators) have female PCLs pointing downwards on my Argon and CO2 cylinders. This means I can mix and match dependant on which machine I'm using.

However I wouldn't use them for oxygen or acetylene !!!!!!!!

For info you can buy specialist couplers for oxygen and acetylene which work in the same way as PCL connectors. We have them on one set of long hoses so we can swap between guns on site without wasting loads of gas. Have seen lots of normal air line connectors on argon hoses.

Use push fit connectors, and plastic tubing much cheaper and less bulky than airline fittings,
