Air/Hyd Jack

Anybody had any experience of fault finding on these jacks? Mine is similar/same as this shown on Amazon. The link is: www.amazon.com/Sunex-22-Ton-Hydraulic-Truck/dp/B0088XMPUE
The fault it has got is that it started lifting (you could hear the air piston under load) and then it just offloaded the air and stopped lifting. Subsequent attempts to lift were just greeted by the hiss of offloaded air! Before I start stripping it I would like to try and find out what is in store for me if possible!

What compressor? Did it work and now has the fault or has it always done it?

The fault is in the jack, not the compressor!

Try light oil wd40 or similar into the air inlet followed by compressed air to see if it's just gummed up. You may have to repeat it a few times. We use this trick on air starter motors, more often than not it works.

I was merely asking if the fault had just appeared or if you'd just bought the unit and it didn't work with your compressor seen as the post didn't have much detail.

I bought a air/hyd Jack and my little 25l comp couldn't provide enough air to lift anything over me stood on it. Where my new 200l comp will lift a 6 ton tractor like it isn't there.

It worked ok the first time I used it on my LT35 campervan no bother but this time it lifted one side ok and then half way through the second lift it decided it had had enough! Even off load now it just vents as opposed to do work lifting!

Spot on Rig Pig, a few squirts of WD40 and its back pumping. I do not use it a lot so the seals must have dried out I suppose.

Glad it sorted it out, do you have an oiler in line? If not the odd squrt of light oil should keep it running.

I do not have an oiler in the line in case I use my spray gun. I only use the air tools on the odd occasion anyway and that jack even rarer so if it plays up it will get a squirt or two. Thanks again.
