Air compressor mastic gun

Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone can recommend an air powered mastic gun. Good enough to use with tiger seal.
I have been looking at a CP one to godwit my needle scaler but it's says it needs 16.4scfm.......that seems a lot!!!
I've got a 50ltr 9.5cfm compressor to work with.

Spraying mastic? Or underbody sealer? Can't see that a normal plunger type sealant gun needs high airflow. Surely it just needs pressure?

I've got a Clarke air mastic gun, and haveused that with silicon/ct1 type sealant... and it worked fine for that.
Sikaflex / Tiger is I think though a bit "thicker" and harder to push - esp in cold temperatures.
It's worth sticking any of that stuff in a pan of hot water, or cooked gently on top of a radiator fir a goodly period before trying to apply it.
(I did some Sikaflex with a regular hand mastic gun in the winter a year or two back, and the effort hurt my hands like hell, and the metallic (Alu?) Cartridge body preferred to crease rather than eject the contents)

Underbody stuff like Underseal or Waxoyl I'd apply via a Shutz Gun. I think the OP is after a gun to apply sealants typically done via a hand pumped mastic gun?

Yeah tiger seal can be a bloody nightmare. Hence the reason I wanted a decent air powered one to save my hands as I've a decent amount to seal under the car. I saw the Clarke one but didn't know what it would be like.

My Clarke one at least looks just like that Chicago Pneumatic one posted above.
If I was trying to apply Tiger Seal irSikafkex with it, just in case, I'd not only heat the gunk up, but I'd make sure the outlet nozzle size was nit too small/restrictive. That makes a big difference.
I found the Clarke caulking gun to work nicely though when I used it with CT1 - quite controllable

That style of gun is made in UK (https://www.coxdispensers.com/cox-products/manual/1-k). As you can see from the description, it gives the lever ratio. Look on the site and compare to a standard skeleton gun. They are good; pumping a 342mm Cox in your hand will put a smile on your face.

Have you got one? It might be a possibility if it is reasonably easy to use with tiger seal.

Some of the cordless ones are pretty good as well, expensive though unless you already have batteries
