lucky i managed to get the job finished .i just cut the resin tube for the last holes.

The good thing though. i got money back and took extra resin and its not lying around probably not getting used again.

all's well that ends well.

i didn't purposely buy that brand

Because too many suppliers stock it & don't offer decent stuff as it's more of an expense to buy/stock

Sadly too many people buy on price & don't think about quality until it stops working when you need it most

im sorry to say even the crap metal is getting to the more expensive brands as well

so its not just the cheap brands anymore that are failing badly

Buying a rubbish gun is like buying medicated toilet paper...both are a pain in the back side.

They should just rebrand their stuff as "silver line one use" ...even that's stretching it. The puller I bought didn't even give me one use before it snapped.

If you only need a tool for one job then it makes sense, before cheap tools you had to beg, steal or borrow.

I had to buy some AF spanners earlier this year to rebuild a rotavator, bought a small set of S/line combination spanners to do the job and i cannot fault them, i don't use them professionally so in the right context they were good enough for me, they got some abuse and lived to tell the tale. I now have a few more AF ring and combination spanners (Gordon and a few other makes) given to me and yes you can tell that they are better quality but would they have done the job any better i doubt it, would they last longer probably but the cheap spanners did the job and will be put away with the other.

I bought a Silverline expanding foam gun once and it lasted just long enough to start a job before it failed! Utter crap! I took it back and bought another make (Italian it think) and its still working fine. Who sold that Silverline junk?

@daleyd you're right about Toolstation! They don't tell you what the brands are in the catalogue, I just refuse it if it's Silverline and tell them its junk, they always agree....
