advise needed

Hi chaps,i am working on a project and was wondering how and if i can braze brass to stainless or is there anyother method i can use as it has to withstand a certain amount of heat the heat will only be from a emersion heater element.any advise would be great many thanks kev.

You would probably be better off using silver solder,

As Gordon says,silver solder [or silver brazing as the like to call it now] is the way to go, as it's a lower melting point & flows better than brazing rods so you won't melt your brass component, I use tenacity no 5 flux when joining steels,& easyflo for copper & brass.

if your making a tank and its filled with water u can soft solder it. i have stainless wallpaper steam strippers and the filler caps are brass and soft soldered on the the lid it depends on what gear u have and what srength is needed

im with bright spark soft plumbers solder will do no problem you cant even solder a pipe woth a plumbers torch if it full of water so heat will not be a problem
