Advice sought. Ss worktop.

Some of you may remember the floating ceiling island I built earlier this year to mirror the kitchen island below.

Kitchen was made in Germany and fitted by a company from france.
Nice job for the most however an error was made in the hob cut outs and a replacment was made and finally fitted monday.
Heres the worktop with hob fitted.

Final image shows where the customer noticed bubbling in the sealant and tried to smooth it...

The sealant is still tacky even after curing and isnt the best solution given cooking will be taking place on it.
Any suggestions I can pass on to the customer to solve would be welcome.
A hard setting product that could be polished in with the ss would be good.

Would have expected the hob/plate surround to sit ontop of the worktop and sealed underneath but think they went this route to keep everything on one level.

Tiger Seal grey or white PU would do and can be rubbed down when cured.

Tiger seal of any other polyurethane will be dirty in days. The fact that they can be overprinted means they are great at absorbing dirt.
Silicone would be a better option but not ideal.
What about painting the PU with a flexible paint? (2k with flexible additive?) using a sign writers brush

Without any knowledge, i can't help but think that needs a waterproof sealing trim bedded in silicone, possibly in black to match hob. Silicone on it's own will not stand up to regular cleaning which this install will be getting. Suppose a ss bead bedded in silicone would work

I thought thats the sealant tape stuff that gets supplied with most hobs at first, just cut the excess off? There must be a sheet thickness overlap, surely?
Or is the cut out a few mm bigger than the hob, then the gap sealed...sounds a pants way of doing it.

Whats the bit on the right of the second picture?

Theres a 4 to 5mm gap all around the appliances Lhs is I belive a plate to keep pans warm and fitted in the same cut out.

Its definitely a sealant of some description they used.
Cant fathom the logic myself.
Assume the hob etc sit on the boards supporting the stainless steel sheet.

Awful concept.

Original top they fitted had 5mm top and bottom and 15mm either side hence the new worktop.

Would have expected the 2mm surround of the appliances to sit ontop of the worktop.
Looks shoddy for such a expensive kitchen install.
