Advice req'd please-need to know type & size of fiitings for T max compressor.

The 'T max' compressor I got recently works ok, but the the screw on valve connector is not the best method of connecting to a valve.

It screws on to the valve ok and the tyre inflates. However, after inflating, the air rushes out as I start to unscrew the connector from the valve. I want to replace the screw on type with a 'push on' type fitting. The problem is I have no idea of the type & size that will be compatible. Once I know the names & sizes of the parts I can start searching to purchase. Can anyone advise please?

I have a similar compressor built into the back of my trials car to inflating tyres after sections. I use a simple push on connector similar to

Assuming your air line is 6mm OD, then you just need one of these to connect it, having chopped the existing one off:

Earlier on today I took a punt on these. Mine is 8mm diam. They are cheap enough to try. I'll see how they go. I may end up getting something like yours. The ones here, I got a pair for about £4.50, Uk seller. Quite a few bits from China on there too.

The spring is easy to depress and strong enough to stay in place. Easy to operate, plugs open flow air chuck into the hose and hooks it to the valve stem. Be fixed to fast valve connector to inflate along with air pump.

I have fitted that connector to my T-Max, probably about 6 years ago, no complaints

Warm up the pipe in hot water (not forgetting to put the hose clamp on it first!) before fitting to the valve connector, much easier to fit that way - also, don't trust the pressure gauge, if fitted.

i am going look at mine now! i would be purchasing the PCL fitting so i can use other attachments too

I have the euro fittings from Lidl. Only because it was in the camper so easier for Europe. I cut whatever was on there off and put a tail up the hose. Couldn’t tell you what it was, got binned years back.

That also looks like either 6 or 8mm pipe I would buy a 3/8bsp male with the correct pushfit and change the fittings to either euro (pcl xf) or pcl

The push fit ones are available. I got the screw type because it is compatible with the valve connector, they just screw together. I'm assuming it will seal ok without usung ptfe tape.

I always use PTFE of airline fittings, most of the ones I use are PCL though.

You'd be correct in that I think - the original fitting must have a seal up there to seal to the valve stem, so will seal to your adaptor just as well.
