Advice pls welding steel tube to flat steel

My tig welding is improving all the time thanks to everyone's help ..

New esab helmet with adj sensitivity has made a lot of difference too..

My latest task is giving me problems though.. I've tacked ok some 2 mm steel tube 20mm dia to some 3 mm steel plate eg I'm blanking off the end of the tubes.. I'm just struggling to weld around the corner so to speak, instead of my usual straight line.. Is there a special technique please?

Rest on the tube or set it up so you can roll it as you weld? I think it all comes down to practice, hence I've spent the last few days cutting and welding saddle joints on 30mm tube. Is the plate tacked on to make a fillet joint or outside corner?

Yes it's set up as a fillet weld...so I guess you roll the tube under your forearm say which leaves you free to dip and hold your torch?

If your just practising then maybe try some bigger tube, it should be a tad easier, just whilst your getting the hang of it.

Its called practice, lots of it usually works,

try running test passes around the tube with the torch to find technique but without actually welding.
