We have a mosa 220sx using 3.2 mm rod weld great, stepped up to 4mm for bigger buckets welded fine, back down to 3.2mm welded fine but all of a sudden like it welding cold, the engine is bogging down like something isn't happy I just wondered if you had any idea as to problem and what it might cost to fix

Those are typical symptoms of broken diodes.
It's still giving output because someone's still fine but there's surely one or more shorted.
I didn't check for correct model but 200 in the name is most likely its highest current so my theory is that as been exceeded the duty cycle and diodes failed.
Those machines simply still go till they die there's no overload protection of any sort.
You're lucky if they have oil level protection.

So are we saying that after the engine is started it should normally run at full operating speed ( e.g. 3,000 rpm ) even when not loaded? Idle down when not loaded is an option?
