Hi guys,
I have been a long time lurker but this is my first post.
I have recently bought a 1973 Series 3 109 Land Rover. Chassis seems in reasonable condition but I'll start saving for a Portamig anyway!
I plan to go over the chassis, clean off the rust and protect it for winter. I was wondering what the collective wisdom is on the best approach to this is. I'm thinking about paint with a zinc rich cold galvanising paint such as this and then using some sort of epoxy primer such as http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AMERLOCK-400-2-PACK-EPOXY-PAINT-INDUSTRIAL-5-ltr-/370303719464?pt=UK_DIY_Material_Paint_Varnish_MJ&hash=item5637d25828#ht_4898wt_1039 As I will be brushing and not spraying is it OK to use epoxy paints with no masks etc??
I'll spray the inside of the chassis with waxoyl/old engine oil.
Thanks in advance for the advice.
Cheers
Mark
