Hi i am looking to make a quick hitch for a loadall that will accept 3 point linkage farm equipment and i have a good bit of rectangular 80x40x3.5 lying around anybody know if this would be strong enough
As this will be subject to loler regs you need to assess properly the loading and safety factor properly so you need to ask yourself are you competent to do the task. It will also need certifying by a competent person.
There is a few on here that do this kind of work who will be able to advise on sizes etc but they will need more info (and might choose to steer clear)
I will be doing the work with a qualified and certified welder with 20+ yrs exp i am just wondering if the top and bottom frame would bend if used with a bale spike there will be another few bracing bars. If it is not strong enough i will get heavier stuff and i will get it certified its more a project for me and him but i have not mentioned it to him yet i would like to get all the material first.
That's ok we have had a few of the blindly have a go type (who strangely disappear after testing ) if you could find someone with same as what you want to build that would be a good place to start
