Advice on cutting a fire extinguisher

Should the rtech 30c plasma cutter be able to cut a alloy fire extinguisher? All I managed was gouging it and not a clean cut, so am not sure if it's technique or lacking poke.

To be honest, I have no idea. It's a co2 fire extinguisher. I should probably chop one with a grinder and measure the thickness.

Drill a hole in the extinguisher and start your cut from the hole,
It wont blow back in your face that way and you'll know how thick it is.

Ally co2 extinguishers are bout 3mm from memory. I cut the bottom off one with a hacksaw to use the neck as a hopper for something

The alloy co2 extinisher I have dealt with was about 12mm thick?

I've got the bits in the shed I think. Il go take a pic after lunch! I'm pretty sure it wasn't that thick

I might be mistaken. We have a 12kg co2 one in workshop as there Is a crack in kneck so got failed at inspection due to risk from pressure faulure. (I think it was 50bar test pressure) I did consider using it for on board pressure vessel on Landrover. Was going to tap a fitting into side

I'd assume with the bigger surface area there is more pressure on the walls overall? So made from thicker material? That's not a bad idea.

I didn't bother in end as I couldn't think of a decent use for the air. The 12v pump I have is plenty capable of inflating the lands wheels without a receiver.

Nit really enough for a impact gun I suppose. Handy if you have airlocks tho
