Advice on car restoration

HI i am looking for some advice on doing some car restoration , i am changing the sills on my bmw 2002 and i would like to know, what would be the best way to rust proof areas that i will not be able to get to once i have finished welding

the main area that i am worred about is the inner sill , once i have wealded the outer sill on i will not be able to paint it with a brush , so i will need to do something before hand

I wont to do the best job i can so any advice would be helpfull

use a schutz gun and spray wax into the sills from the pressing holes inside the car look HERE

2002 is the model , 1972 is the year it was made

Yeah i get this all the time.

so what product is used with the schutz gun. any pictures

tetrasil (scuse the spelling) comes in litre tins. Dont buy from MM but look for a large motor factors near you (there should be an andrew page near by so look for their competition) or ask at the garages that do welding.

your gonna need quite a few tins,

will give you an idea, all auto welders know where to get it so ask in your local garages

Try Tetrosyl My wife drives for a motor factor delivering stuff like this on Saturdays

Good stuff that,maybe even derust the inner sill and paint with a zinc rich primer before welding the outer sill,some will burn off but with the cavity wax etc it should be nicely protected.

I wish i had an inner sill to derust in the first place

I have new bmw sills to fit , and i would like to stop this from happening againe to the new parts
