Advice on a few welders

Hey guys, I am looking to get a good welder that will last me good length of time for automotive use. It would be nice to having something that could be used on a project car etc. I am looking to get one for my 21st and so it would be nice for it to be a long term thing. I have been on ebay.....

I found these two sealey welders, opinions please?

Hi Chris, Many people have the Sealey but I have no experience of them, what to buy depends on your budget really.

For a hobby machine, personally I would probably go for a Clarke 150, for a machine in the next bracket up it would be a Portamig, Lincoln, Esab etc

At 21 you should be looking at something better than the sealey, it will weld fine, but a machine with a Eurotorch and a step up in quality will serve you much better in the long term, and are well worth the higher price!

Thanks for the advice guys, Ill have a look at them! I think the budget will be around £300 but I still wan to get the best I can

i was gifted a sealey mightymig 100 gasless for xmas last year, and it seems to do most things well. although i am looking to upgrade to a 150amp mig or a 200amp tig. but i find my mightymig very easy to get used to
