Adhesive question

I'm looking for a gunnable adhesive that will bond cement particle board to bare steel sheet. Its 3mm thick so it a clean smooth finish.

The cement particle board sits within a folded steel tray so it relatively 'fixed', but it is subject to heavy foot traffic as well as being exposed to the elements. its likely that water will sit in the tray. It would be fixed in dry conditions.

Needless to say it needs to stay stuck.

Any ideas?

Maybe Sikaflex 221, but ring Sika's technical support and ask what they recommend.

If water sits in the tray, what are the consequences when the temperature drops below 4 degrees and the water starts to expand?

How about a pu adhesive and sealer. As used in the manufacture of caravans, gluing car windscreens in and fitting body kits to cars, even bonding wings on, i believe. Tigerseal, stixall and pu40 are afew trade names. I know a very reputable roofer who fits ridge tiles on new roofs with stixall.
I think it needs at least a couple of mm thickness for best performance. Some people use tile spacers on the bed to achieve this.

Something like Sikaflex 291 is usually my go-to for a decent industrial sealant...there is one that is suitable to use below the waterline, can't remeber the number though.
Their tech department are decent too, or they used to be anyway.

However I do agree with the CT1. There's a demo in the factors i use. Its all manner of stuff stuck together.

Here's a fun game with CT1:

Fill up an old ice cream tub with water. Slash with a Stanley knife so water's pouring out. Run up the slash line with CT1. Leak stops.

Turn the tub round, slash the other side. Then put the nozzle underwater and seal the slash from the INSIDE!

Good stuff. No good on hydraulics or diesel tanks mind.
