AD on youtube came up trumps

So I was watching some Youtube vids like you do usually starts with how to do something always ends with crazy russians doing whatever but at some point an ad for the thingy below popped up and needed to cut a load of threaded rod so thought id give it a go. Found one on ebay for a few quid and really works very well anyone else used them ?

My cheap chinese one was complete garbage! Ended up getting a refund

Going to get a Laser 7510 with carbide cutting edges

I made sure the one i bought had carbide cutting edges and has worked well so far , does m6 to m20

Cheap from China. Will take an age to arrive. I'm in no hurry.

ebay item 163448645379 tool steel actually but has lasted ok has done maybe 100 ends

One of those popular items pumped up by social media and very easily copied resulting in 95% of them being complete tosh just like the gold colored step drills you can buy for a couple of quid The Hall made one i have cost me nearly £60 but its the real deal.

True but if it saves me an hour of my time for a fiver then as far as im concerned its a winner, if i needed to use it every day then £60 well worth it

its the odd diy vs professional tool debate opens a whole can of worms
