Acrylic car paint compatibility

Hi guys, the pop is getting prepped for paint https://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/threads/rust-again.140429/
I've always followed Langys advice with Lechler epoxy primer and green Ti primer, which I'm using, but some of the paint Kapeci 660 ? acrylic was bought locally so i could choose the colour. It is in good condition so would like to paint straight over it, do you see a compatibility issue and what's recommended for top coat ?

Epoxy is inert when cured and will take any paint directly, with correct preparation. 1K acrylic doesn't need a top coat, but if you really want to, you could use a 2K lacquer.

I'm happy to go over all the epoxy primed areas as is, it's the painted stuff that's just been keyed ready for a top coat i'm worried about like the wheel nut covers and window trims

Not much you can do apart from try it in light coats. A 2K would be safer due to its lower thinners content of course.

Is the current paint clear over base or solid John? 2k or 1k?
Knowing the issues I have had trying to touch in clear over base after I've cocked up (the base pickling) I would be inclined to put a coat of epoxy on to seal it first.
Bear in mind I am a rank amateur and my opinion is worthless.

Hi Paul, i consider myself no better !! It's 2k acrylic from what i found out, the wasn't the greatest of paint shops, but would lend out colour chips too look at. Kapeci 660 might be it, so it's acrylic top coat. I'll fully paint the shell in between the repair work being finished off, and use the front coil cover panel as a rest piece as it's pretty easy too flat and repaint. Hoping for some warmer weather soon
