Hi all,
I’m new here.
I have a few welds to make on an old van for an MOT. Doesn’t need to be clean as it’s underneath.
I have acquired an old Clarke 90en welder. It’s gasless but can take the disposable gas bottles.
At first the welder had no wire feed. After looking at a few posts on here I knew it was either the switch or the pcb board. Upon cleaning some of the terminals on the switch it now works. I get spark with some very old wire in it. And it feeds through okay.
Can anyone recommend some decent flux core wire or the best disposable gas bottles? Or the best route into converting into a full gas bottle. I won’t be welding an awful lot so do not think there is a requirement for a big bottle. I think I have seen some 2.2ltr disposable bottles at 100 bar. Would these be suffice? But they look to be around £70 for two bottles? Does that sound correct?
