ACO HexDrain cut length?

I bought some of this stuff -

The area its to go into isnt an easy "new build" and i *thought* i could cut the stuff, and attach the end caps.

The design is that the lengths are 1000mm long, and there is a repeated pattern at 100mm.

...or so i thought.

It seems that the molding for the end cap "catches" are only at the 500mm length, which seems properly odd - to the extent that i feel i just must be missing something...

And then i figured someone here would know!



If... the product is really designed to only be cut at the 500mm mark, whats the best alternative way of blocking up an end? 500mm increments just wont work.

That's what I thought. Seems like madness. I mean Ctrl c / Ctrl v on the CAD and it could have been every 100mm and not every 500. No cost at all, from what I can tell.

I'll have to make do. I bought the end kit and everything!

Another irritation -

If you use the knock out sections in the base of these, the resultant hole is too small to get your hand though. You have to buy another accessory pack to get a fitting large enough to have any hope of ever cleaning out.

These things are used all over, and I've been surprised by them - again I've put it down to my own incompetence but I'm not so sure now.

I Glue the end on where you want it .
They're the the same as most stuff now , the only people that complain about stuff is the grunts using it - and who listens to them ?

You need an accessory outlet pack to be able to connect 110mm plastic to it. And guess what..

The tiny clips that the outlet clips on with constantly spring off until they break. I glued that on too.

These things are never tested in the real world by 'proper' people otherwise they would never make it to production.

I think the older Aco resin stuff is a lot better made. Expensive though. I wouldn't buy the plastic carp ever again.
