I need a fairly robust vertical plastic container for immersing fairly heavy items, some 36" long and 6" in diameter in a de-rusting solution (dilute phosphoric acid) . At present using a plastic drum with the top cut out but it's not deep enough and items have to be turned and the newly de-rusted end then starts to rust again.
Have considered a dustbin but the volume is considerably more that I need.
Thinking maybe an off cut of 12" plastic water main pipe with a cap "welded" on if I can find a source.
Suppose I could make one with fibre glass but guess that would have to be moulded around weld mesh or similar to give it strength.
Any suggestions for an off the shelf solution ?

) and to avoid having to fill it with lots of phosphoric dilute you could get some old 5 liter containers, fill with water, cap and use them to "bulk out" the bin to reduce the volume of deruster needed. I have used the diluted phosphoric (the BnQ metal restorer which they no longer do, gerr) Have now been trying the brick acid (cheaper!) from ToolStation. Does not work as quick but does work. You might even find if you shop around you could get a 25lt drum of it for what you pay for the phosphoric.
