acid etch primer

In my old job we used to use an acid etch primer on the sewerage treatment plant we made. It was a 2-pack product, one part was clear and the other yellow in colour, it had pretty potent fumes off it and when painted onto the steel would dry nearly clear. It was excellent , does anyone happen to know what brand this primer was ? I'd like to buy some.

i still use 2k acid etch .ici used to make it under the belco brand . now epoxy primer seems to have superseded it

Don't buy the cheap car paint stuff, tetrosyl springs to mind, it's crap, I'd like some serious sh@t to a blanket stuff if you find the make

The belco name rings a bell, i did nick a litre of it years ago but used it all up. The upol stuff i have used , doesn't impress me at all. You can scrape it off with your finger nail.

I did see some brilliant stuff that once it was on,was impervious to thinners, tetrosyl stuff whets a whiff of thinners and falls off........

most 2 part acid etch fit your description ..just go with a decent brand name

i use a variant of 'mordens T -wash' its a thin watery type viscocity spray on leave 30 mins then wash off galv will have turned black-overcoat with normal paint ,its rock hard cant shift it with your thumb nail.i get it from 'ESCCO'.
