Complete novice, I pushed a stick once or twice years ago but have a list of welding projects / repairs to do, sufficient to provide a decent excuse to learn that don't need to be done perfectly.
I am a big DIY-er and like good tools. I am not after speed of work, jobs will be far apart when I clear this backlog, so am not shooting for MIG.
I am looking to get a multi-purpose welder, I have access to a good deal of alu. scrap to practice and tinker with / on (hence desire for AC) and am looking to do anything from steel work, to automotive/motorcycle (panels only for now, given novice status!).
I am looking at 'Parweld XTT202P' or 'SWP Stealth Digi-Tig 200 AC/DC Pulse PFC MV Dual Voltage'. The latter would let me get a nicer mask and bit more gas / consumables within budget.
Any better suggestions?
